Introduction
WHO recommends that people at substantial risk of HIV infection be offered TDF-based oral PrEP as an additional prevention choice and as part of combination prevention. Daily oral PrEP has been shown to be effective in preventing HIV infection among populations at risk of infection, particularly event-drive PrEP (ED-PrEP) However, many countries are struggling to implement ED-PrEP.
This webinar aimed to enlighten participants on the implementation of ED-PrEP and how they can navigate the various challenges to reap maximum benefits.
Objectives
The meeting objectives were to:
1. Understand what ED-PrEP is and who it is targeted towards
2. Communicate the benefits and risks of ED-PrEP for the target population
3. Provide guidance on implementation of ED-PrEP
4. Share country experiences in the implementation of ED-PrEP
